How Kwest works: from questionnaire to guided workout

Kwest is a mobile-first workout tracker that builds you a real, personalized training plan — not a generic template — from the equipment you actually have, your goal, and your experience level. Here's the whole loop, screen by screen.

1. A short questionnaire, not a 40-field form

The first thing you do after creating an account is answer a handful of questions in the Wizard: which body parts you want to train, your goal (strength, hypertrophy, general fitness, endurance), your experience level, basic stats, how many days a week you can train, and — the part most planners skip — exactly which equipment you have access to, right down to the dumbbell weights and resistance-band levels you own.

That last part matters more than it sounds. A plan built for "a gym" is useless if your gym is a rack of adjustable dumbbells in a spare room. Kwest's plan generator only ever prescribes exercises for equipment you've told it you have.

Why this matters: most workout apps either give you a fixed program (same for everyone) or ask you to build your own from scratch. Kwest sits in between — it generates a real plan automatically, then lets you edit anything about it.

2. Your week, laid out

Once the plan is generated, Home becomes a 7-day calendar. Tap a day below to see how the view adapts — training days show a workout summary card, rest days show recovery framing instead of an empty slot.

Tap into any training day and you get a fully editable exercise list — swap an exercise for a same-muscle alternate, reorder, add or remove, tweak sets/reps/weight. The plan Kwest generates is a starting point, not a locked script.

3. Guided sessions, not a static checklist

When you're ready to train, the Session screen walks you through the whole workout: a cardio warmup, then each strength exercise in order, then a cardio cooldown. Between sets and exercises, a smart rest timer counts down automatically. After each exercise you log a quick 1–5 effort rating, which Kwest uses to keep future weight progression realistic.

If your cardio machine supports Bluetooth, the warmup and cooldown blocks show live pace, power, and cadence pulled straight off the machine — see how the Bluetooth integration works.

4. Nothing gets lost

Finish a workout and it's posted straight to your account — sets, reps, weight, effort, and any cardio metrics captured over Bluetooth. Your account, your plan, and your entire history live server-side, so switching phones or clearing your browser doesn't wipe your progress the way a purely on-device tracker would. See how history and stats work.

5. One plan at a time, always current

Kwest deliberately keeps a single active plan rather than a library of saved programs. When your goals change — more training days, new equipment, a different focus — "Edit Plan" re-opens the wizard prefilled with your current answers and rebuilds around the changes. There's no dead program library to get lost in.
